University of MD School of Law: Materials
The University of Maryland School of Law was established in 1816 and began regular instruction in 1824. It is the third-oldest law school in the nation, but its innovative programs make it one of the liveliest and most dynamic today.

The adjacent photo actually represents two different projects:
a) Our challenge was to encourage judges to hire clerks from UM Law by promoting both the school and its graduates' research and writing experience.
b) This piece is intended to prompt votes for the U.S. News and World Report's law school rankings.

a) We developed a theme based on School firsts, promoting UM Law as the first place to turn to recruit a judicial clerk. A focus on the School's first female dean and one of its graduates being the first African American nominated to the Fourth Circuit Court had the dual benefit of drawing attention to its diversity as well. A list of peers who have previously employed UM Law graduates ensures that the audience identifies with the piece.
b) We used impressive statistics regarding the experience and diversity of the student body as the conceptual driver for The Proof Is In the Numbers. Bold graphs effectively represent the School's successful promotion of judicial clerkships while more detailed content delves deeper into UM Law's strengths and accolades.
